Admission

In addition to the members of the college, the following persons may be granted an access and admitted to the library, but may not borrow library materials

Any persons over age of 18 years, who are engaged in private study or research, supported by appropriate evidence of academic standing and fitness for admission

Undergraduates of KSA universities normally resident in Riyadh area, if supported by appropriate recommendation

Persons over age of 16 years may visit library, accompanied by member of college or library staff. College member cannot introduce more than two visitors at a time. Visitors admitted to the library under this rule may not be permitted to consult any library materials

 

Discipline in the Library

Seats in the library may not be reserved

Complete silence, cleanliness and orderliness strictly observed

All users must be set their talkies in SILENT MODE in library

Only drinking water is allowed other eatables are not permitted

Smoking is not permitted anywhere in library premises

Users must be shown their College ID cards if library staff asks

Library staff has right to inspect any of your property

Chairs must be pushed back against the table after using

The use of electronic devices are permitted in specified areas or not if it constitute a distraction for other users

The use of equipment likely to disturb or distract other users and to damage library property is prohibited

General photography and filming of library users and materials is not permitted

Bottles of ink, correction fluid and other potentially damaging substances are not allowed in library

Library staffs have right to stop any activity in library which consider prejudicial to safety, well-being, security of readers or library staff or collections

Leave your personal belongings outside library such as handbag, briefcase

The Library is not responsible for personal items that are lost or stolen in Library premises

Use of Library Materials

Ask from library staff if you are unable to find any material

Do not write, underline or mark on any library’s book

College ID must be shown at the time of consulting or borrowing library materials

The use of library computer is strictly for research purposes. The use of social media is prohibited

Reference books, journals, magazines and newspapers must be used within the library only

Group discussions are only allowed in the discussion room and the noise must be kept to a minimum and should not disturb any other user in the library

Borrowing Rules

Users must produce their college ID card at the time of borrowing library materials

Students are allowed to borrow a maximum two books only

Teaching Staff can be borrowed up to five books for two weeks only

The normal loan period for books is 7 days; however library may fix varying loan periods for different types of materials

Any borrower who fails to return a book before the due date shall be liable to a fine of 1 SAR (2 SAR for recalled books) for each working day

Reference materials, periodicals and unbound works may not be borrowed except by the special permission of Librarian

Personal details of users’ library materials borrowed may not be disclosed to others users

A circulation of library materials is not permitted less than fifteen minutes before closing time

Students are not allowed to borrow books on behalf of others or transfer borrowed materials to other students

Damage/Loss of Library Materials

All users will be held responsible for any damage or loss of library materials in their possession and will be required to meet the cost of replacement and processing

In case of library material lost, must be reported to the librarian immediately and paid within 30 days

Exclusion from the Use of Library

The library committee shall have the power to suspend or exclude to any user from the library who disregards the rules and regulations

The library staffs have the right to ask students to leave the library if they are misbehaving or causing disturbance to other users
